I have decided to start using Gentoo again. I built a Gentoo 64-bit virtual machine and after two nights of working on it, I have a bootable base system. I cloned the system and am now working on getting KDE compiled on the clone. I have to say, compiling in a virtual infrastructure with plenty of horsepower is so much faster than when I did this in college on my old Pentium 4 system. For the most part, Gentoo is the same as I remember it, but I cheated a little and used a Stage3 to get started and am still using the genkernel. My next goal is to get a gentoo LAMP system running. I want to compare it to my CentOS system that I use to run my Minecraft server.
